ACL Injury Prevention.
This project is a biomechanical analysis of cutting and landing techniques and the role of a neuromuscular program to prevent ACL injuries in football players.
I will be carrying out my own practical test in the labs, then an intervention, followed by re-testing. I want to look at internal forces upon the lower extremity and highlight the main risk factors towards ACL injuries during cutting manoeuvers and landing.
One of the aims of this project is to establish the internal forces upon the lower extremities that are seen as potential risks for an ACL injury to occur. The main aim is to show the effectiveness of a 6 week neuromuscular program and establish whether it can alter these forces and therefore potentially minimize the risk of injury.
